What made you decide to work for Qbrick?
I am a person who is driven by challenges and the need to constantly learn new things. Arkena had new technology that I previously knew nothing or very little about. My experience of web-TV was more or less that I had been watching SVT Play a few times, but that was about it. Therefore it felt like a true challenge to start working with what I considered to be the cutting edge technology within the segment.
What’s the best part about your job at Qbrick?
I get to “break” things :-) Jokes aside, as a tester a part of your job is to come up with creative ways to test a product or software. That is called exploratory testing. Not only do you get to test products the way it’s intended to be used by regular testing, as well as develop methods for automated testing, the best part is to test things in a non-conventional way that neither developers, nor product owners have thought about.
After all, predicting what the real world users will do is not an easy task. And the gratification is of course when you find issues/bugs from this non-conventional testing that you can send back to the developers to fix, or maybe even as far back as to the product owner to decide what should happen in the scenario that failed for you.
What’s your next big challenge at Qbrick?
Me and my QA colleagues need to come up with a common way of working in the different QA teams.
What’s your favorite web-TV show
My favorite TV-show isn’t available on the web, as far as I know. But I’m still going to say Dallas, since that is the best TV-show ever. But if I had to pick a web-TV show it would probably be Game of Thrones.
What are your plans for the weekend?
I don’t like to make plans that far ahead. I’m more of a Carpe Diem type of person. I live for today, no one knows what will happen tomorrow.
What sports event would you never miss?
I, along with the rest of Sweden, used to watch Ingemar Stenmark go downhill. But I can’t say I’ve been into sports since he retired.
What’s your hidden talent?
I’m good at making good looking cold-buffets.
